The Marlowe — European Transitional Residence

The Marlowe is a European Transitional–style home designed from the ground up to embody elegance, craftsmanship, and livable sophistication. Created from a blank slate based on a client’s design discovery form and a few key inspiration images, this design balances refined European character with modern comfort and flow.

The façade is defined by sweeping rooflines, barrel-roof dormers, and arched detailing that create a distinctive and timeless presence. Inside, a vaulted living room with timber beams opens to a loft above, establishing a dramatic yet comfortable heart of the home. Large windows invite light throughout, while thoughtful circulation connects every space seamlessly to the outdoor living and kitchen area.

Hetrick Design developed the full schematic design, providing the complete concept, massing, and exterior character. The builder will carry the design forward into construction documentation and engineering with an interior designer guiding the finish selections.

With its graceful forms and thoughtful proportions, The Marlowe represents the perfect blend of artistry and precision—a design that feels both classic and current, ideal for clients seeking enduring style and balanced design.
